Grand Theft Auto 5 has finally gotten a VR mod that actually works. GTA 5 is by far one of the most popular games ever made, and in fact the best selling game of the last decade. Even though it released back in 2013, there is still a large dedicated fan base that continues to explore and mod the game in extravagant ways.
Over the years there have been a lot of GTA 5 mods created to make the game more engaging and interesting. There are a lot out there that improve the graphics of the game, make the gameplay more realistic, or allow players to explore the interiors of all buildings. On the other hand, though, several of the mods make the game even more ridiculous than it already was. For example, a mod was released last year that allowed players to be Magneto from the X-Men series. This mod comes with being able to disarm enemies, flip cars, and even pull helicopters out of the sky using the mutant’s magnetic powers. Mods like this make the game much more enjoyable for players as modders can add in just about anything.
Game Rant reports that this new VR mod was posted by Reddit user LukeRoss00 last week. The new mod is called R.E.A.L. and is the 4th iteration of the modification to GTA 5. Players will be able to use this mod to play the game in full VR functionality including cutcscenes. LukeRoss00 even included a very simple set up process to allow players to quickly and easily get the mod up and running on their system.
This version of R.E.A.L. is a huge improvement over previous iterations of LukeRoss00 creation. The previous versions had some serious graphical limitations, but players are now capable of quickly and easily updating the graphics of the mod and running the game on it’s highest settings. This will make sure that players can have a similar graphical experience in VR as in the standard version of the game. Even better, players will even be capable of running other top of the line graphics mods with VR as long as their computers are powerful enough. The mod can be downloaded on LukeRoss00’s GitHub page.
There are very few games in the world that have such a large and dedicated modding fanbase attached to them like GTA 5 does. Modders are constantly ensuring that GTA 5 feels just as fresh and engaging as it did when it first released. With every new mod the game is changed in wonderful and insane ways that make the game even more special than originally intended. Another GTA game may not be coming anytime soon, but the modding community seems to be having enough fun without it.
