There’s quests that revolve around Gwent, both playing it and hunting down other people for their rare cards. Everybody in the land seems to play it, whether it’s your old pal Zoltan Chivay, the Bloody Baron himself or a merchant in a village in the mountains of Skellige.
Gwent mod in action in Tabletop Simulator
Needless to say, it’s been a big hit. Players are crying out for an online mode so they can play against their friends rather than NPCs, other players are hoping for a physical version similar to Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and Magic the Gathering.
Players who bought the Xbox One collector’s edition actually received two full Gwent decks; one for the Northern Realms faction and one for the Nilfgaardian Empire. Unfortunately, these weren’t available for PC or PlayStation 4 buyers and are going for extortionate prices on sites such as eBay.

Thankfully, for those looking to play Gwent online, whilst it’s not made by CD Projekt Red themselves, they have given the a-ok for Reddit user /u/RiZZaH to make a Gwent mod for Tabletop Simulator! This means owners of Tabletop Simulator on Steam can simply download the mod and play Gwent with your friends, or if you’re lacking in those, anyone online via matchmaking.
You can download the mod here: Gwent Tabletop Simulator Mod.
It’s not currently available in the Steam store due to a false DMCA claim but the author is working to get it back up. For now, here are the simple instructions to get it working:
Click the ‘Download’ button Save the link to the Tabletop Sim ‘Saves’ folder found at: My Documents/My Games/Tabletop Simulator/Saves Load up Tabletop Simulator then click ‘Load Game’ and select the Gwent mod
You’re in! Now you can play Gwent online to your heart’s content.
