Halloween is the best time of the year because we get to ditch our mundane lives in order to experience all of the fun and festive joy that the holiday offers. Not only do we get to pick out our own unique costumes as we watch Hocus Pocus for the billionth time, but we also get to pig out on awesome treats that are perfectly excusable for this one special day.
Halloween Baking Championship understands how important food is when it comes to this particular holiday, and because of this, they have created some of the most epic baked treats of all time. What are some of the best creations from the show? Check out our list to find out!
COLOR EXPLOSION
Everyone loves the holidays because they are filled with color and magic, yet no holiday is more colorful and creative than good ol’ Halloween. Some may say that Halloween is just for kids, but as for us, we will actively be celebrating this festive time of the year for the rest of our lives.
That means costumes, candy, pumpkin picking, and watching scary movies. This cake filled with different flavors and animated images captures the true spirit of our favorite holiday, revealing how colorful October 31st can be. If only we could have a bite!
Detail we love: the graffiti scattered all over the cake.
ZOMBIE GOODNESS
We never thought the words “zombie” and “goodness” would be placed in the same sentence because most of us aren’t too fond of these particular creatures trying to feast on our brains. Yet while these monsters might want to eat us, humans, alive, all we want to do is devour this delicious-looking masterpiece.
Everything about this dessert is brimming with holiday spirit and creativity, from the splattered blood to the gloriously detailed chunk of brains. Normally we would be grossed out by the sight but that just looks like it would be super fun to eat.
Detail we love: the slime on the brain.
RIP RUDY ASHLEE SCOTT!
We are totally digging this delicious treat because it is everything from outrageously spooky to wildly appetizing. What better way is there to celebrate Halloween than to nibble on a chocolate tombstone? It doesn’t get more festive than that. The best part is, this dish tells a story.
Clearly the skeleton has awakened and is now coming back from the dead! When one of the Halloween Baking Championship creations is able to leave us slightly spooked, you know it’s a good one. Now, hurry up people! Eat this skeleton before it arises from the dead to haunt us…
Detail we love: The skeletal hand reaching out from the grave.
GROWLING TREAT
This delicious looking treat does not look so happy over the fact that it’s about to be eaten. Check out that malicious stare! We might even feel a little bit guilty taking a bite out of this little guy because he’s so viciously cute, but hey, chocolate is chocolate and it’s gonna take a lot more than a cute face to pass that up.
Everything about this meal looks heavenly and we admire the creativity that’s being put into the chocolatey snack by giving it some personality and spunk! How many people can claim that their dessert has got a bit of an attitude problem?
Detail we love: The angry eyes.
GHOST ASYLUM
This is another great example of a baked creation that does more than just provide delicious goodness. Like many of the other memorable creations on the program, this one also tells a story! It looks like there are a bunch of ghosts who have managed to escape an asylum that is now burning to pieces.
Did one of the ghosts set the place on fire? Someone better call Ryan Murphy. This looks like the perfect plotline for an episode of American Horror Story. Everything about this cake is so brilliantly detailed from the dirt on the ground to the fire seeping from the top of the building. It’s a ten out of ten from us, that’s for sure.
Detail we love: the bricks on the walls of the asylum.
WEREWOLF DELIGHT
It wouldn’t be right to eat this cake without blasting “Thriller” by Michael Jackson, because that is what this spooktacular dish instantly reminds us of. This cake is bursting with animation and color, making it such a memorable piece of art that is almost too perfect to eat… almost.
We’re getting hungrier by the minute here. It takes a person with a brilliant imagination to create a design like this one, and there are so many great little easter eggs here from the full moon, to the detail coming from the werewolves vicious claws. Remus Lupin would approve.
Detail we love: The oozing blood.
EYE WANT CANDY
Gross! This is one of the few dishes that actually makes our stomachs flip just the tiniest bit- and that’s why we love it so much. Out of all the meals in Halloween Baking Championship, this is the one to actually make us uneasy, which perfectly captures the essence of what this holiday is all about.
If it doesn’t spook you out a little bit, then it isn’t revealing the true spirit of Halloween.
Detail we love: The popsicle tongue. Gross, but oh-so-delicious.
HAUNTED GINGERBREAD HOUSE
Who said a gingerbread house has to be cheery? Although when we think of a gingerbread house, our mind most often goes to Christmas, this treat proves that you can make a gingerbread house for any holiday. And what better holiday than Halloween to get creative and haunted with your delicious creation?
This one reveals the campy fun that derives from October 31st and it looks pretty darn appetizing to us. This haunted gingerbread house reminds us a lot of the haunted houses from classic Halloween themed movies such as Rocky Horror Picture Show and IT.
Detail we love: the little pumpkins at the front entrance.
GLOW IN THE DARK MADNESS
Who said your dessert can’t be glow in the dark? Imagine how fun it would be to take a bite out of this guy. It’s filled with excitement and color that must have been truly fun to bake.
We love how the baker considered what ingredient they would use to perfectly imitate the brain, and this jelly-like treat is the most fitting choice without a doubt. We are obsessed with the glowing colors from the loud greens and purples to the little specks of red.
Detail we love: the neon speckles surrounding the dish.
LET’S MAKE A DEAL…
And last but not least, we are obsessed with this awesome baked skeleton who looks like he is just up to no good. Everything about this is so well thought out and we admire how original the design is.
This skeletal jack-o-lantern has a brilliant New Orleans vibe to it and it reminds us a lot of the villain from The Princess and The Frog aka “The Shadowman”. We half expect this delicious treat to burst out into a musical number while singing “Friends on the Other Side”.
Detail we love: the green glow from inside the jack-o-lantern.
